Welcome to Laine & Co. Weddings ("Laine & Co.," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of lainecoweddings.com (the "Site") and any wedding consulting services, packages, or à la carte services purchased through it (collectively, the "Services"). By visiting the Site, submitting the contact form, booking a discovery call, or purchasing any Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or purchase our Services.

1. About Our Services

Laine & Co. Weddings provides project-based wedding and event consulting, including but not limited to:

  • Vendor research and recommendations
  • Venue research and recommendations
  • Wedding timeline development and day-of coordination planning
  • Wedding budget creation and tracking
  • Contract review assistance (general guidance only — see Section 6)
  • Wedding website guidance and setup
  • Pre-wedding event planning (showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners)
  • General planning advice and appointment scheduling
  • Curated consultation packages (e.g., Foundations, Milestone, Signature) combining the above services

Services may be purchased individually ("à la carte") at an hourly rate or bundled into a pre-built package with an estimated number of consulting hours. We do not currently offer full-service, on-site wedding planning or day-of management staffing unless explicitly agreed to in a separate signed contract.

All services are provided virtually or by phone, regardless of your location.

2. Booking and Engagement

A booking is confirmed once:

  1. You complete checkout and submit the required deposit, and
  2. You sign a consultation contract provided separately, and
  3. Payment has been received and verified.

Until all three steps are complete, no consulting services will begin. Booking a free discovery call does not constitute a confirmed engagement.

3. Fees, Estimated Hours, and Overages

  • À la carte services are billed based on the estimated hours listed for that service at checkout, with a 50% deposit due upfront and the remaining balance invoiced upon completion.
  • Packages include a bundled estimate of consulting hours at a discounted blended rate compared to booking the same services individually.
  • Hours worked beyond the originally estimated amount (for either à la carte services or packages) are billed at $65/hour unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Estimated hours are based on typical scope for that service; unusually complex requests, extensive vendor back-and-forth, or significant scope changes may result in additional billable hours, which we will communicate before proceeding wherever possible.
  • All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise noted.

4. Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds, cancellations, and changes to booked services are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

5. Client Responsibilities

To allow us to provide effective consulting services, you agree to:

  • Provide timely, accurate information about your wedding plans, preferences, budget, and timeline.
  • Respond to communications in a reasonably timely manner, particularly when decisions or approvals are time-sensitive (e.g., vendor deadlines).
  • Make final decisions regarding vendors, venues, contracts, and purchases. We provide research, recommendations, and guidance, but we do not have authority to bind you to any third-party agreement.
  • Review and approve any documents, timelines, or recommendations before relying on them for your wedding day.

6. No Legal, Financial, or Professional Advice

Laine & Co. Weddings is a wedding consulting service, not a law firm, financial advisory firm, or licensed professional service provider. Specifically:

  • Contract Review Assistance is intended to help you understand vendor contract terms in plain language and flag items worth clarifying. It is general guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed attorney before signing any vendor contract involving significant financial or legal commitments.
  • Wedding Budget Creation & Tracking is a planning and organizational tool. It does not constitute financial, tax, or investment advice.
  • Any vendor, venue, or third-party recommendation is provided as a courtesy based on research and experience. We do not guarantee the performance, pricing, availability, quality, or conduct of any third-party vendor, venue, or service provider.

7. Third-Party Vendors and Venues

Any contracts, payments, deposits, or agreements you enter into with photographers, venues, florists, caterers, or other third parties are strictly between you and that third party. Laine & Co. Weddings is not a party to those agreements and is not responsible or liable for:

  • Vendor performance, cancellations, or quality of work
  • Vendor pricing changes or availability
  • Disputes between you and any third-party vendor or venue

8. Scheduling and Availability

We make reasonable efforts to accommodate booking timelines, but availability is not guaranteed, particularly during peak wedding season (May–October) or for requests made close to the wedding date. Booking earlier is strongly recommended to ensure availability for your preferred services.

9. Communication and Hours of Operation

Consulting communication (email, phone, video calls) generally takes place during standard business hours, Central Time. We aim to respond to client communications within 1–2 business days. Response times may be longer during peak season or around major holidays.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the Laine & Co. Weddings name and branding, and any planning templates, checklists, or guides we provide to clients — is the property of Laine & Co. Weddings unless otherwise noted, and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.

Materials provided to you as part of a paid service (e.g., a custom timeline, budget tracker, or vendor list) are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use related to your own wedding and may not be resold or redistributed.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laine & Co. Weddings and its owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or Services, including but not limited to: vendor or venue performance issues, weather, venue closures, force majeure events, or any circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

12. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, illness, public health emergencies, government action, internet or utility outages, or other events of force majeure.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing structure, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
